Brooksby Hall is a Grade II* listed manor house between Leicester and Melton Mowbray. The house dates from the late 16th century, was home to the Villiers family for about 500 years (George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, was born here in 1592) and later to Admiral David Beatty. It is now part of Brooksby Melton College and is hired out for weddings.
Its 31-acre garden runs down towards the River Wreake, with open lawns and trees that make a natural setting for portraits. I photographed a wedding ceremony here in 2013, with the portraits straight afterwards in the grounds.
