Holy Trinity and St Luke Greek Orthodox Church, Birmingham

Holy Trinity and St Luke is the Greek Orthodox church on Park Approach in Erdington, in the north of Birmingham. The community was founded in 1983 and held its services in Sutton Coldfield until it moved into its own building in Erdington, which was consecrated as a church in October 1995.

Since 2007 the walls and ceiling have been painted with frescoes in the Byzantine style. With the chandeliers hanging down the aisle, they fill the background of almost every photo, from the crowning at a wedding to the font at a christening.

I've photographed weddings and christenings here since 2009. Flash is almost always allowed in Greek Orthodox churches, so I can photograph the whole service.
