Kelham Hall, near Newark in Nottinghamshire, is a Grade I listed country house designed by George Gilbert Scott and built from 1859, a high Victorian Gothic masterpiece in red brick. It was home to the Manners-Sutton family, then a theological college for the Society of the Sacred Mission and later council offices, and since 2021 it has been a wedding venue as The Renaissance at Kelham Hall.
The house stands in parkland, with formal gardens and long yew-lined walks for portraits. I photographed a reception here in 2024, in a vast brick-arched hall strung with festoon lights, after the service at Virgin Mary Eleousa in Nottingham.
