The Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and St Andrew stands on Arthur Place, close to the centre of Birmingham. The building was designed by J. A. Chatwin in 1873 for the Catholic Apostolic Church, and in 1958 it became the first Greek Orthodox church in Birmingham. It is Grade II listed.
Inside it is a brick Gothic Revival church with a wide nave, heavy brick arches and a high arched roof, and the great chandeliers hang right in front of the icon screen. It makes a dramatic setting for the crowning.
